7 Nights

7 Nights captures the rhythm of nocturnal New York, using a moving subway train as both subject and brush. Shot on Queens Boulevard, this long exposure image features the iconic (7) train with an RGB light bar custom-modified and mounted to the rear of the train. As it races through the darkness, the light bar paints a continuous, fluid trail of shifting color, turning infrastructure into expression.

The vibrant spectrum of the RGB lighting transforms the train’s path into a visual echo of the city’s after-hours energy, bright, kinetic, and constantly evolving. The technique merges real-time motion with creative engineering, allowing the subway to become a moving canvas that reflects the emotional and cultural pulse of Queens, one of the most diverse places on Earth.

7 Nights is both a technical experiment and a visual diary, documenting not just a moment in motion, but the soul of a city that never sleeps.
